A closer look at the second Season 5 Lost promo

November 23rd, 2008 - Comments Off on A closer look at the second Season 5 Lost promo

The second full length promo for season 5 was released a couple of days ago during Grey’s Anatomy, and a little alter it was also made available online. The promo is a joint venture of sorts between “The Fray” and ABC, and is being used to promote both Lost and The Fray’s new single “You found me”. While some of the scenes shown were also in the first promo, there is still a bunch of new stuff to go over. The full video is attached so you can check it out at your leisure.

First of the ‘new’ bits is Hurley sitting at a table, probably in the house that we’ve already seen in his flash forwards. There is a quick shot of Kate holding Aaron. We get a close up of Locke’s eye, which zooms out to show him flat on his back (not sure if this is new or not). We get another angle of Faraday’s confrontation with the person in the hazmat suit, this time more from the perspective of the person in the suit.

We see Sayid and Jack having a fight, and Sayid appears to have a n oxygen mask around his neck, so this could possible take place after the scene of Hurley helping Sayid out from the last promo, which itself is possibly connect to some of the other shots in this promo. After a few flashes of Desmond (who wasn’t in the first promo), we see a couple of the losties still on the island (is it Scott or Steve?), and Miles notices a bomb which appears to be attached to a trip wire (the type of traps that Rousseau used), theres and explosion and Miles dives away. Could this be the end of Scott/Steve (which ever one isn’t dead). Just before the explosion there is also the first flash of the “Ajira Airways” logo on the screen.

Ajira Airways: Destiny Calls

November 22nd, 2008 - Comments Off on Ajira Airways: Destiny Calls

During the new season 5 promo (will post about it later) a logo for Ajira Airways flashes up a couple of times, the sites asks for an email address, says its launching January 21 (same as Lost) and has an ABC disclaimer in the footer (view source). I wonder what it all means, could it be the beginning of a “better” ARG to lead into Season 5? Click Here.

Dharma Initiative Volunteer Assessment

November 19th, 2008 - Comments Off on Dharma Initiative Volunteer Assessment

So despite saying that the ARG would continue on December 19, it appears to have started up again a month early. The latest email says that individual dossiers for each participant can now be downloaded from the “Dharma wants you” website. The ‘dossier’ is just a two page pdf, first page is a certificate saying you’ve completed the program, and the second page is your results from the tests (I actually did much better in some than I thought). In the email Hans Van Eeghen also announces that due to the world financial crisis all the higher level Dharma representatives have “gone missing”, causing them to “abandon their ambitious plans”. As a result they’ve “sold the Dharma Initiative to the television show LOST” (I’m sorry, but thats just lame…). He goes on to say that exec producers Lindelof and Cuse will be in contact with their future plans for the Dharma Initiative… Maybe they’ll tell us why this years ARG sucked so hard.

Lost’s Past and Future

November 16th, 2008 - Comments Off on Lost’s Past and Future

Good summary of the Q and A panel that executive producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse took part in during the Screenwriters Expo over the weekend, they discuss how the show began, the path that its taken and where it might end up. Read more

Don’t open it

Walt goes to tell Locke that it wasn’t him who poisoned Michael. As Locke is reassuring Walt, he grabs Walt’s arm and Walt freaks out a bit and pulls away. He says “don’t open it, don’t open it Mr Locke, don’t open that thing”. But Walt doesn’t even know about the hatch.

How do we open it?

Surprisingly when Locke first shows the hatch to Jack, Jack’s response is “how do we open it?”. It’s not everyday that Locke and Jack agree on something like that.

Three Hour Season 5 Premiere

November 8th, 2008 - Comments Off on Three Hour Season 5 Premiere

It has apparently been confirmed that Lost will return on January 21st with a huge three hour premiere. It is going to be a one-hour clip show followed by the first two episodes of Season 5. Awesome. Lost will also be moving back to a Wednesday timeslot. Only two and bit months to go.

Season 5 Promo 2

November 6th, 2008 - Comments Off on Season 5 Promo 2

This one was first aired last night during the election coverage, it’s pretty brief. I don’t think it shows anything new, apart from possibly confirming that its Locke holding the compass. The end shot of the Lost logo above the island is also different to that used on previous promos, not sure if that means anything much though… Click here.

Island reaching out to Jack

November 4th, 2008 - Comments Off on Island reaching out to Jack

One of the hidden Easter eggs on the season 4 DVD is a short clip of Damon Lindelof talking about the power of the island. He says that the way the island is reaching out to find Jack could be likened to how Mr Fantasic might use his super-stretchy arms to reachout and grab a cup of coffee from another room.
